“Just the groove” is the fewest instruments you can dance to: the clave, the campana's low tone on 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the conga and bass tumbaos. The bass, piano, tres and trumpet play the I–IV–V–IV progression in G (G, C, D, C, two counts each), and turn around with the clave like the percussion does.
